Bible Memory Verse: Proverbs 3:5,6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths.(RSV)
So far....
Jacob, Joseph's father, is the grandson of Abraham. Jacob has four wives and 12 sons. This is already complicated enough, but things got worse. Joseph, being the second to youngest, tattled on his older brothers to his dad. This made them angry. Then Jacob gave Joseph a special coat. This made his brothers angrier. Then Joseph dreamed two very important dreams. But when he told his brothers about them, they became VERY ANGRY! The Bible tells us Joseph's brothers hated him and were jealous of him.
Jacob was a tent dweller and owned many flocks of animals. His sons took care of the flocks. Being a shepherd was hard work.
