The Old & The New
Jesus led his disciples in celebrating the Passover and instituted what we call "The Lord's Supper." In this he introduced the New Covenant.
In the middle of this was the drama of Jesus identifying both the betrayer and the denier.

Making Room for Change
We are nearing the completion of the first (baby) step in our expansion project. We have been working on developing a new room for our preschool class on Sunday. They will be moving across the hall, two rooms down from our nursery. With help in putting in a new doorway and window, fresh paint on the walls, and the removal of the stuff that wasn't being used but stored in these rooms, we are just about ready to move our kiddos in.
After we move the preschool class, work can begin on the new offices. On Monday at our building committee meeting, we learned that we need to finish this second step in a few short weeks so we can begin the new footings for our lobby expansion. We are gearing up rapidly to get our big project on the move.
A side note - we have submitted our initial set of plans to the city planning department for permitting.

Men's Breakfast - 7:30 Sat
Hey guys - roll out of bed and make your way down to the church for another day of fellowship and food. We will again be led by our worship team and enjoy food by our own Jim Irish & company.
We will have an update on our expansion project and for those who can give a little time following the breakfast, we will be taking down the large canopy, as well as moving some items into our new preschool room.

Expansion Update:
The Building permit was submitted Tuesday 7/26.
Next steps
-
Move the preschool class into their new room.
-
Demo and construct the new offices in the north wing. With the new offices in one wing, this should provide big savings in our heating costs since we will only be heating one wing instead of two.
-
Make room in the foyer for foundations under the floor in the old library area (where Neil's temporary office is located now) and Carole's office area.
-
Electrical service upgrade is in process and will be located in 1/3 of Pastor's current office.
Thank you so very much for your prayer support and offerings to help in God's plan for us at La Center Evangelical Free Church.
Any questions?? Please, contact Steve Ward or Jerry Harkleroad.

Drop by Thursday evening to check out our church's booth. Enjoy some conversation and pick up some fresh produce in the process.

This week La Center Church Student Ministries took 2 high school students to the Move Conference in Corvallis, Oregon.
A little over two weeks ago we were having Vacation Bible School here at La Center Church. It was fantastic! The Children's Ministry did an amazing job working with all of the children God brought us. During this Connect with our community we had over 20 students help serve in all areas of the VBS. I was delighted to help our students stay focused on serving in the VBS and watch as they gained firsthand experience in serving Jesus in a venue focused on the children of La Center. Good work Students!
